“Wedding (the Berlin district) is up-and-coming” has been until this day one of the most persistent clichés among city-dwellers in Berlin. NIDID took to the streets and asked around between Sprengelkiez, Soldiner Straße and Nettelbeckplatz. Has Wedding finally caught on and what does this mean for its inhabitants? What is ‘coming’? Who benefits from it? Is Wedding turning into the new Prenzlauer Berg? And what do the residents of Wedding want for their district? NIDID is a Berlin-based NGO which offers new impulses in the field of development, democracy, culture and conflict prevention. A report from Fabian Täniges, Oliver Müser und Radoslaw Szydlowski.
